chambos apartment​

an interior renovation based on an existing structure, without changes to the masonry or alterations to the apartment’s architectural configuration. the clients were looking for a quick intervention, focused on updating the spaces through finishes, custom cabinetry, furniture, and lighting.

the proposal was to work with what already existed, preserving elements that were part of the apartment, such as the itapuã mdf panel that visually separates the social and private areas, the electronic equipment, and an existing armchair. rather than replacing this base, the project adds new elements and establishes a relationship between existing pieces and contemporary choices.

the social area concentrates much of the intervention. the living room, kitchen, and gourmet balcony maintain their original configuration, but gain a new reading through the composition of colors, materials, and furniture. sofa, rug, table, chairs, and bar console introduce new references without creating a rupture with the existing wood panel.

one of the design principles was to bring touches of brazilian identity to the apartment while also expressing the relationship the clients maintain with music. this intention does not appear as a literal theme, but through the combination of colors, textures, woods, objects, and furniture pieces. the result is a more personal composition, built from everyday life.

the custom cabinetry was designed as a complement to the existing elements. media console, sideboards, countertops, headboard, nightstands, and other furniture pieces were developed to meet the specific needs of each space.

the finishes also play a central role in updating the spaces. the kitchen and bathrooms receive new layouts, combining different formats, scales, and tones. the materials were specified considering the existing elements and their alignments, allowing the intervention to maintain visual continuity without requiring changes to the architecture.

the lighting underwent a complete review. some of the existing points were removed or reorganized to reduce excess and allow for different scenes of use. indirect lighting, adjustable fixtures, and decorative luminaires now work together, creating distinct atmospheres and highlighting materials, furniture, and objects.
