fendi115 house
the fendi house results from an architectural renovation that expands and transforms an original residence of the type model. with a focus on the adaptation and expansion of the internal environments, the project sought to meet new demands, such as the expansion of the rooms and the integration of the living room, kitchen and outdoor leisure area, promoting a fluid connection with the outside and minimizing the sense of confinement imposed by the walls of the house.
the metal structure plays a key role in the project, chosen not only for its agility in execution, but also for the visual lightness that its apparent presence confers on the composition. strategically arranged, the metal beams are organized in the facade at different heights, establishing a dynamic rhythm in the volume and composition of the residence. this structural solution allows the creation of balances, essential elements for the formation of overlapping volumes that delineate the entrance and broaden the vertical perception.
the facade combines materials such as exposed concrete and aluminum brises with woody finish, creating a play of transparency and opacity that favors the permeability of natural elements. this coating involves an internal garden, allowing light and ventilation to enter in a controlled way, connecting the interior space to the exterior in natural effects. the proposal aims to ensure a sense of continuity between spaces, so that the transition between them is smooth and welcoming.
due to the limitations of the existing construction, the openings for ventilation and natural lighting were directed to the front and rear facades, leaving the sides without opening possibilities. this restriction was transformed into an aesthetic and functional feature: the concrete facade extends to the interior of the house, establishing a spatial unit. thus, even without side openings, the interior remains illuminated and ventilated, with a wide and airy atmosphere. biophilic landscaping plays a fundamental role, along with limited openings and physical limits, emphasizing sensory continuity.
material and finishing decisions were carefully evaluated in relation to budget and manpower availability. apparent concrete and aluminum brises were selected for durability and the ability to create a contemporary image, while the metal structure accelerated the execution process, making construction more efficient.
